Anxiety is more common of an issue than you would think. Truth be told, anxiety will affect most everyone in their life at one time or another. Using crystals to ease Anxiety can be very helpful.
Anxiety turns into a ‘disorder’ – disruption to normal functioning – when anxiety and its sensations and symptoms interfere with a normal lifestyle.
“For some people, anxiety may be linked to an underlying health issue. In some cases, anxiety signs and symptoms are the first indicators of a medical illness such as Heart Disease, Diabetes, Thyroid imbalance, Respiratory issues, chronic pain or drug/alcohol withdrawals. Sometimes anxiety can be a side effect of certain medications.” http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/anxiety/symptoms-causes/dxc-20168124

But at other times, panic attacks can seem to occur without reason.
Panic attacks and their symptoms can last from just a few moments to hours. During the attack, most people feel an incredible amount of fear, trepidation, and foreboding, which is often accompanied by a strong urge to escape, a feeling that you are about to lose control, and for many, that they may even die. No matter the severity of the anxiety or the frequency, it can affect our lives. Let me share some crystals/minerals that may help to ease your anxiety and/or calm the symptoms of an attack.
Crystals for Anxiety ( aid/ease )
For headaches work with pieces like Amber, Jet, Blue Fluorite, Nuummite, Pietersite, Shungite, or Sugilite. Any of these will help to release the tension and ease pain.
Tension in the neck and shoulders often is a symptom of Anxiety. Try some Actinolite, Smoky Quartz or Celestite, all of which will help to relieve and release built up tension in these areas. Other tension relievers include: Ajoite, Blue Calcite, Blue Lace Agate, Danburite, Pink Dolomite, or Manganocalcite.
For that nervous or upset stomach, try drinking some water charged with Amethyst, Green Fluorite, Jet, Labradorite, Lepidolite or Moonstone.
Make sure to check the Crystal Cautions list to make the best choice on how to use (direct placement, charging water, etc).
Feeling sick to your stomach? Work with some Dumortierite, Emerald, Green Aventurine or Red Jasper.
Can’t sleep? toss and turn? or have full blown insomnia? Grab some Lapis Lazuli, Lepidolite or Celestite and put under your pillow. It will help to calm the nerves and relax the body and mind so that sleep will be easier to attain.
If your heart feels like it is literally going to beat right out of your chest, grab some Danburite, Lithium in Quartz, Lepidolite or Zoisite to ease the upset, reduce the fear and allow the heart to beat more normally (and softly).
Overwhelmed? Amethyst can help! Lepidolite too! You may also want to consider Diopside, Rose Quartz or a Zircon. Any of these, by themselves or in combination will help to ease the feelings of being overwhelmed.
If you get weak in the knees, keep Carnelian and/or Hematite close. They help to ground and balance you which will relieve the weak in the knees symptom.
Fear–that fight, or more often, FLIGHT response is very common with severe anxiety/panic attacks. Try carrying some calming Angelite, Chiastolite, Chrysocolla, Labradorite, Larimar, Manganocalcite, Nephrite Jade, Prehnite, Rutilated Quartz, Smoky Quartz, Silver Topaz or Black Tourmaline. Any of these individually or in combination will help to ease your fears and release their hold on you.
Smoky Quartz will also help to alleviate nervousness. Others to consider would be Bronzite, Aquamarine, or Watermelon Tourmaline.
I often suggest a small velvet bag or pocket for your Panic Attack First Aid Kit. You could include any of the following. Choose those that you are drawn to the strongest. Chlorite Phantom in Quartz, Dumortierite, Pink Kunzite, Lapis Lazuli, Lepidolite, Lithium in Quartz, Rhodonite, Sodalite and/or true Turquoise.
It is important that you acknowledge the anxiety and work to understand why it is present. It can be a temporary situation (you have had a run of bad luck, are financially stressed, family issues, etc) or it can be a recurring event. Either way, I believe that once the source has been identified, you are more able to work on a solution. You now have some crystal suggestions that may ease in reducing the anxiety.
You also may want to consider other modalities, in combination with your stone therapy, especially if the anxiety is stress induce. Try physical exercises like walking or taking a boxing or kick boxing class. Others may prefer a quieter route, like yoga or swimming. I often find that giving my anxiety energy another outlet helps to release it from the body, which in turn eases the physical symptoms of anxiety. I cannot tell you how many times I have danced like no one was watching in the middle of my living room. It is, in its own way, very cathartic!
Last words here, you may want to consider asking someone you love, a friend or family member, to be your anxiety awareness buddy. Someone that can support you 100% and even be there if you find yourself in a full blown anxiety attack. They will need to be knowledgeable about anxiety attacks, understanding, non judgmental and compassionate. Someone to sit there and hold your hand until the worst is over.
Just remember, having anxiety, whether it is a temporary condition brought on by stress, or a more frequent experience that needs to be addressed, does not define you. It is something you experience, but it is not who you are.
